You both see them. Goodwin uses them for household summaries in the group thread.

Your accounts

Only you see them, in your direct thread. Goodwin never mentions them to your partner, not even inside a total.

Goodwin says "the household spent," not "you spent." It names a person only when an account has one cardholder.

Privacy

Built so that even we can't look.

Your bank data will live in a sealed vault. We write the program that runs inside it, but once it starts, nobody can see in. That includes us.

  • An outside audit.An independent security firm will review the vault, and we will publish the report.
  • Plain about the limits.Texts pass through phone carriers. So Goodwin sends summaries, never account numbers.
  • Leave anytime.Either partner can leave on their own, and "forget everything" deletes your data.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Setup happens on this website. After that, everything happens in your normal text messages.

Is Goodwin a person?

No. Goodwin is a bot, and it always says so.

Yes. Goodwin is built for couples, but it works for one person too.

Which banks work?

Most US banks connect through Plaid. If yours doesn't, you can upload a statement on the website.

Is this financial advice?

No. Goodwin shows you what happened with your money and answers questions about it. It does not give investment advice.

What if one of us wants to leave?

Either partner can leave at any time, on their own. Each person keeps their own private accounts and their own direct thread.
